2022 Delas Freres Saint-Joseph Francois de Tournon, Northern Rhône, France

Deep, dark ruby. The nose shows the classic northern Rhône Syrah aromatic signature: cassis, dark cherry, graphite, crushed stone, white pepper and a subtle smoky, savoury note. The palate is medium-full bodied with a smooth, voluptuous texture and fine, silky tannins — more approachable than the top single-vineyard Saint-Josephs but with genuine depth and complexity. Dark berry, plum and spice flavours are supported by a taut mineral energy and vibrant natural acidity. The finish is long, succulent and persistently mineral. Excellent medium-term cellaring potential through 2032.
